My co-worker Christie Kulavich and I took my daughter to Touch a Truck at Landmark Park on Saturday. (Really were just looking for a project to test the new audio recorder.) More than 30 trucks available for children to climb on and explore. A favorite activity - honking the horns. I can't say enough about this event. It was educational and so much fun. The kids - and parents - had a blast. If you have children, mark this down on you calendar for next year. We put together an audio slideshow of the event .... turn on your speakers.

The Weighty Gagas made a road trip Sunday morning to bike the The Creek Indian Trail in Eufaula. This rail trail – an old railroad track converted into a bike/walking trail - is a little longer than three miles according to the numbers stamped on the pavement. It is paved except for a wooden bridge that crosses Lake Eufaula. We parked downtown on East Broad Street and entered the trail about four blocks from U.S. Highway 431.
The Houston County Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale opened this morning at 8 a.m. at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens. Early birds got the worm at this sale. Peggy Ussery and I arrived about 12:30 and all the cherry and jelly bean tomatoes were gone. No rosemary, no mint, no black-eyed Susan vine. No worries. I still managed to fill a Radio Flyer wagon full of herbs, veggies and plants. (Love the wagons at the sale) The gardeners we talked too said a number of plants sustained heavy hail damage from recent storms. That may have reduced the quantities of some plants.
The Vaughn-Blumberg Center plant sale began today. Peggy Ussery and I made a trip to the greenhouse to check out – OK buy because we are suckers for a plant sale – all those lush plants. There were lots of lovelies in the greenhouse. I managed to limit myself to two plants – a cat whisker for $3 and a strawberry begonia for $1.50.
