Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Taylor will offer prayers for local businesses during its 11 a.m. service on Sunday. During the service, stationary with business letterhead will be anointed and prayed over for a positive economic turn-around and growth. First United Methodist Church of Daleville, located at the corner of Highways 134 and 85, is hosting a Mardi Gras Celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be entertainment provided by the Daleville High School Jazz Band, and the traditional Fat Tuesday fare of pancakes, waffles and grits will be served at no cost. St. Columba Catholic Church, West Main Street, Dothan, will welcome Catholics and non-Catholics for the Distribution of Ashes on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. and for The Stations of the Cross on Friday, April 10, at 3 p.m. The season of Lent, the 40 days before Easter Sunday, is an important Christian season.
