Foster Fest will be held in downtown Dothan on Friday, June 12, from 6-9 p.m. Street rods, antique cars, muscle cars, imports, low-riders, rat-rods and motorcycles takes place on the second Friday of each month in the parking lot behind the Houston County Courthouse at the corner of East Main and North Foster streets. This month there will be a contest for the person dressed in the best 1950s outfit. Winner gets $50. For information, call 791-7338 or 797-2863.

MOVIE
Movie Night Under the Stars will be held Friday, June 12, at 8:30 p.m. at Georgetown Baptist Church on High Street in Georgetown, Ga. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to this free movie event. Mural Tours will be held each Saturday during June beginning at 10 a.m. Tours are free, last about one hour and begin at the Salute to the Peanut Industry mural located in the parking lot of the Dothan Civic Center. A guide will lead you around downtown to 15 different murals. For information, call Christy Elmore at the Dothan Area Visitors Center.

THEATER
The Featured Players Theatre, 137 N. St. Andrews St., Dothan, will present the children’s production “Jack and the Beanstalk” on June 13, June 20 and June 27. DANCE
A sock hop will be held at the Dothan Dance Club, 2563 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, on Friday, June 19, from 7-11 p.m. Free hot dogs and hamburgers; cash bar available. Free dance class for The Madison at 6 p.m. Music of the 1950s and 1960s and retro dress is encouraged but not required. Dance contests during the evening with prizes. Sponsored by Dothan Dance Club and Oldies Radio 100.1 FM/700 AM. Event will be broadcast live over the air and the Internet with WEEL Radio’s Bob Mathers. Admission is $10 per person. The 2009 Tallahassee Model Railroad Show and Sale hosted by the Big Bend Model Railroad Association will be Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Florida Fairgrounds, building 4. Different operating layouts — N, HO, O-27 and large scale — will be featured. Local and out-of-town vendors. Free parking. Admission is $5 for adults and children 13 and older. Children 12 and younger admitted free.

The Moonlighters, Dothan’s own big band, will perform at Landmark Park on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Music by Moonlight summer concert series. Concerts are held in the park’s gazebo.
