Abbeville man arrested on drug charges after fleeing police

An Abbeville man was arrested on drug charges after running from police, then later turning himself in.
Randy Vidale Williams, 35, of Dothan Road in Abbeville, is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. He is being held in the Henry County Jail on bonds totaling $29,000.
According to information from the Abbeville Police Department, investigators were performing surveillance on Williams near a residence on Pine Street when officers attempted to take him into custody. He ran away, but later turned himself in.
