An Ashford man died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning a few miles outside Gordon.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd said Keith Danyel Jones, 35, of Harvey Hicks Road, died during the crash.

According to an Alabama State Highway Patrol report, Jones died from injuries he suffered in a crash that happened about three miles north of Gordon on Alabama Highway 95 around 2:50 a.m.

Byrd said Jones traveled alone at the time of the crash. He also said Jones drove a red Chevrolet pickup truck in the northbound lane when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, over corrected and overturned several times. Bryd said Jones was ejected from the truck and pinned underneath the truck. Byrd pronounced Jones dead at the scene around 5:30 a.m.

Every week someone dies because they are ejected from their vehicle. Please people! Think of your loved ones. Wear a seat belt.
