Barbour County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Clio man early Tuesday morning after authorities say he fled the scene of an accident that left an infant injured, according to Chief Deptuy Eddie Ingram in an e-mailed statement.

Invesetigators looked for 23-year-old Dusty Grantham for more than five hours Monday night after they say he fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash on State Road 131 near the Baker Hill community.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. and left several people with minor injuries, including an infant. Authorities believe Grantham was “very intoxicated” at the time of the crash, and he was wanted on a warrant charging him with felony probation violation from drug charges, Ingram said in the statement.

An Alabama State Trooper arrested the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Scott Domino, who faces at minimum reckless endangerment charges, Ingram said in the statement.
Grantham is being held in the Barbour County Jail without bond.

Yea…what was he guilty of???  I think if i’m ever in an accident i’ll run from the police, hide in the woods for several hours, assault a police dog…all because i’m innocent.  Get real.  The only reason he ran from the police is because HE KNEW HE WAS GUILTY and was going to be caught.

If this young man fled the seen as an occupant of a vehicle what is he guilty of? Was he told to stay put by an officer? What law has he broken? I am sure we can make something stick but what?
