Columbia man gets seven years for sex crime
A Columbia man pleaded guilty to a felony sexual abuse charge in Henry County Circuit Court earlier this week.
Henry County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Eugene Daughtry, 50, of Henry County Road 63, on Nov. 9, 2007, and charged him with felony first-degree sex abuse, felony enticing a child for immoral purpose and indecent exposure.
According to court records, Daughtry pleaded guilty to felony first-degree sex abuse and indecent exposure. Records showed the enticing a child charge was dismissed as part of the plea.
Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford sentenced Daughtry to serve seven years in prison. A probation hearing has been scheduled in the case for next month.
