Kinsey police recently seized about a half pound of marijuana during a traffic stop and arrested a Dothan man.

Police Chief Keith Whitehead said police charged Eric Kelly, 32, of Kinsey Road, with felony first-degree possession of marijuana. Whitehead said police seized 20 individually-wrapped plastic bags of marijuana inside the GMC Yukon driven by Kelly. Kelly was arrested Wednesday on Old U.S. 431 in Kinsey.

The U.S. Supreme Court has just ruled that a search warrant HAS to be obtained to search a vehicle during a traffic violation stop, among other things….stipulations are in the ruling. Look out Barbour, Henry and Houston counties, lawsuits will, surely, be on the horizon.
