CFO hired for Ozark City Schools

OZARK — Ozark City School Board members voted unanimously on Wednesday for a Carroll High School graduate to man the city school system’s financial office.

After five years in the Dale County School System, Vivian Miller will serve as Ozark City Schools’ new chief financial officer.

Her employment comes after the abrupt resignation of former CFO Monica Foote in September, officials said.

City Schools Superintendent Mike Lenhart said there were 27 applicants for the position and six were interviewed.

“(Miller) was head and shoulders above the next closest interview, and that one was really good. We are looking forward to a long relationship,” he said.

Miller, a 1978 CHS graduate who has been a certified public accountant for 25 years, said her experience and love for Ozark City Schools will help her continue to take the school system through proration and keep the system financially sound.

“Proration is a tough job ... so you have to look at any possible excess. Hopefully, that has already been done,” she said. “I’m glad to be here and I appreciate the support.”

Miller will begin her new post Dec. 1.
