Esto, Fla., woman sentenced to life for drowning daughter
Staff reportsA Holmes County, Fla., woman was sentenced to life in prison Monday for the drowning death of her 7-year-old daughter.
In February, a jury convicted Amanda Elaine Lewis, 28, of felony murder and aggravated child abuse. Judge Allen Register sentenced Lewis to life in prison for the felony murder conviction and 30 years for aggravated child abuse.
According to a story published in the Dothan Eagle in August of 2007, police say Lewis forcibly held her daughter, Adrianna Elaine Hutto, under water in their above-ground pool at the family home in Esto, Fla.
