An Ashford man killed in a wreck on Highway 84 near Efurd’s has been identified.
Carroll Gates, 63, of Ashford, was killed when his Ford Taurus was struck in the driver’s side by a van, which was traveling along Highway 84, according to Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd.
The crash, at the intersection of 84 and Broadway, also resulted injuries to a passenger in Gates’ car, Quinnlaven Thomas, 21, of Ashford, and the driver of the van, Allen McNiel, 27, of Pansey.
Byrd said Gates apparently failed to yield the right of way.
