Wiregrass Electric officials say all of its customers have been restored power. According to Emergency Management Agency officials, the calm won’t last for long.
Tropical Storm Fay is expected to drop at least six more inches of rain into the Wiregrass between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m., according to Dale County EMA Director Robert Marsh.
So far, Dothan has gotten 6.5 of the 12 inches of rain, while Marsh said Dale County has gotten two of the expected eight to ten inches.
Marsh said no injuries have been reported although at least two trailers are believed to be damaged and trees down in various parts of the counties.
“Daleville is under no warning, but there is concern in Newton,“ Marsh said.
In Dothan, some trees remain down in some major areas, although only about 200 of the 7,000 residents who reported power outages have not had power restored, according to Dothan Utilities.
Residents are asked to only dial 911 in case of emergencies.
To report a power outage, call 615-3302.
Information and non-emergency requests should go through the Dothan/Houston County EMA Helplines at 334-702-2214 / 334-702-2215 / 334-702-2216.
