An early lesson in politics
Published: September 4, 2008
Listening to all of the politicians that I am pretty well forced to listen to on the news, I remembered a story my Dad once told me when trying to explain politicians to me.
It seems one fellow was running for office, and he told the voters, who were anti-booze folks, that if he ever took even a sip of wine he turned red in the face, stuttered and couldn’t think right.
The second fellow to speak said that if he even smelled wine he passed out.
The third fellow followed with, “If I even see someone who has smelled wine ...”
I understood then, and I understand even more today.
