Missing the point

Rick Pierson’s June 25 letter reflects a typical attitude of those who support abortion. He seeks to apply his own standards of conduct to God while refusing to acknowledge that it is we who should apply God’s standards to ourselves.
Mr. Pierson misses the entire point when he accuses God of being “... the world’s greatest abortionist ... .”
The point is not whether people die or not; the point is who has the right to bring about those deaths.
For years in America, we believed that no one could assume the right to bring about the death of innocent individuals such as unborn children. We acknowledged, like many governments the world around, that a society does have the right to use the death penalty on those who had shown themselves guilty of serious crimes, but the wanton death of the innocent was considered far beyond the rights of society.
For those who believe in God’s wisdom, understanding and mercy, however, his allowing those deaths, even causing those deaths, is a different situation entirely.
Believers do not place themselves anywhere near the same level as God. They know that “his ways are much higher than those of men,” and that “he sees the ending from the beginning.”
This is why believers are willing to “have peace and know that he is God” and that “his wisdom is sufficient for our walk with him.”

Pinget, you are a fool. Nuff said.
There is no god. A grown woman is of more importance than a potential person. Women have the right to control their bodies.
