Published: September 16, 2008
The Lions’ quarterback Desmond Warren threw for 372 yards off 13-of-21 passes and three touchdowns, including a 95-yarder with less than two minutes to go, and also rushed for 27 yards on just four carries and a touchdown, leading Houston County’s dramatic rally from 35 points down to beat Cottonwood 52-50 last Friday at Columbia’s L.F. Tillery Field.
Warren directed an offense that rolled up 380 yards and 44 points in the second half, including 36 points in the fourth quarter.
The 36 points are the sixth most in a quarter, according to Alabama High School Athletic Association Web site, but the most in a fourth quarter. Warren threw no interceptions.
