Early wake-up, check.

Fill the gas tank, check.

Drive to Hoover, check.

Negotiate the maze of the Wynfrey Galleria, check.

Stand in line to register, check.

Get the media guides, double-check.

Get a seat in the massive print media ballrooms, thank goodness check.

We’re here. SEC Media Days kicks off a bit later today. SEC Commissioner Mike Slive will deliver a little state-of-the-SEC address and away we’ll go.

This feels a little like a season opener, even though we’ve got a month and a half before we kick off the 2009 season.

We’ll be updating frequently over the next few days—and well beyond. Check here and our twitter updates, as well as the Eagle’s print and online editions for the latest.

After commissioner Slive, Arkansas’ Bobby Petrino will talk about the Razorbacks, who will be a spoiler, if not a sleeper, in the SEC West.
