Upchurch out for game

December 06, 2008

By Jon Johnson

Tide running back Roy Upchurch is not dressed out for the game. He has a neck injury, and was listed as doubtful this week.
Upchurch is watching the Tide warm up.
The Alabama offense and kicking team are on the field now.
No Florida players are currently warming up.
Just less than an hour before kickoff.
Official kickoff time has been set for 3:10.

Harvin appears out for game

By Jon Johnson

It looks as though Florida playmaker Percy Harvin will not play today.
Harvin is not on the field warming up with the rest of the players.
He is nursing a high-ankle sprain, suffered in last week’s game against FSU.

Bama kickers on field

By Jon Johnson

The Alabama kickers are working on the field, as are the Gators on the other end.
As I write this, more Gators now enter the field to a chorus of cheers.
There goes the Florida fight song.
Now about an hour until kickoff.

Gators on the field

By Jon Johnson

Florida is the first team to send players out for practice, about an hour and 20 minutes before game time. A group of Gators are stretching.
The bands for both teams are now getting set up in the stands.
Not much else going on right now.
I’ll check back with you soon.

Saban alert

By Jon Johnson

Nick Saban walks the field at 1:10 p.m., getting reaction from the Alabama fans that have made their way into the dome.
The Army-Navy game being shown on TV in the press box, and past Alabama-Florida games being shown on the big screen in the dome.
Those were some classic battles in past SEC title games between the Tide and Gators.
I expect the same today.
