Bob Armstrong and rasslin’

I interviewed pro wrestling legend Bob Armstrong on Wednesday morning for a story planned to run on Tuesday. Armstrong, and a number of old-school legends, will be in Dothan next Friday night as part of a big show at the Civic Center.
Armstrong, who turns 70 this year, was an absolute delight to interview.
I’ve always been intrigued by the wrestlers of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Their lives on the road are most remarkable.
While I had a face-to-face interview with Armstrong, I also was able to talk to eight-time world champ Harley Race and Jerry Stubbs, a longtime favorite in Dothan, by phone.
The three will be part of what’s being billed as the Farewell 2 Legends card.
