Enterprise police investigate New Year’s Day murder

Enterprise police are investigating a murder and attempted murder that happened early Thursday morning.

Christopher Drew McCray, 20, is being sought on an attempted murder charge. McCray was identified as the shooter in a non-fatal assault by the victim.

Police responded to an apartment on Dixie Drive at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday and found Tori Maurice Jones dead. Police said he was likely shot in front of the apartment, once in the face and once in the chest.

At about 12:28 p.m. George Presley walked into the emergency room at Medical Center Enterprise with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his forehead.  Presley, 26, identified McCray as his assailant. He denied any knowledge of who shot Jones.

McCray is a black male approximately 6’ tall and weighs 165 pounds.  Anyone with information concerning the shooting should contact the Enterprise Police Department at 347-2222.
