Site for Country Crossing finalized
Lance Griffin/Dothan Eagle
Published: March 13, 2008
All contracts signed.
—Just off 231 South, then South of State Highway 109, near Smithville Road.
—Site will be 776 acres
—Negotiations for 16 parcels of land between 6 or 7 landowners
—Price of the property was not disclosed
—What’s next: The final signatures were placed on the contract Thursday afternoon. Developer Ronnie Gilley had hoped to have the land deal done by last Friday, but negotiations with multiple landowners slowed the process, he said.
The next step will be the creation of a Capital Improvement Cooperative District—a partnership between Houston County and Ronnie Gilley’s acquisition company, Resorts Development Group—to facilitate the project. The district must be created through an act of the Houston County Commission

country crossing facts:
Great idea,Great drawings and artist renditions, great star power for now..
but folks, really what has Ronnie Gilley really developed that has been ultra successful? What has he ever accomplished that truly looks as it was projected on his websites and with his cocky, arrogant statements? Come on, I could propose a “Little Disney” w/ a great website and dwgs and say that Sheryl Crow, U2 and George Strait were my pals, but where’s the proof?
I will say I’m really disappointed and amazed that a seemingly knowledgeable man such as Mark Culver was sold on this half a—project without really doing some homework. Gilley, why not show some profit figures and financials on your many successful ventures and companies.

Folks, check them out. (Great ideas, architectural drawings and websites)
Case in point. Two of Gilley’s pipe dreams that never came too pass. I GIVE THE KID THIS MUCH, HE KNOWS ALOT OF COUNTRY STARS AND USES THEIR MONEY, BUT THE ONLY THING I SEE HE’S REALLY ACCOMPLISHED IS SOME HALFWAY FINISHED SUBDIVISIONS IN ENTERPRISE AND A FURNITURE STORE. Care to list your TRUE accomplishments Gilley? Where’s the really true success and accomplishments? Give me a break…
