Three Daleville businesses were burglarized early Sunday morning, while a suspect remains on the loose.
Daleville Police Sgt. Kenny Jackson said at least one burglar went in and either busted or looked in cash registers at McLin’s, Lee’s Steakhouse and Daleville Car Wash.
Jackson said the department had an idea of a suspect but had made no arrests.
He encouraged businesses to not leave any cash overnight and to leave cash registers open at night.
“If the register was open then nothing was touched. For businesses, if they need an escort at night to transport money to the bank, they can call us,“ Jackson said.

Unless you have court or other business at the Dale County Courthouse, you might hold off from going - the elevator is not working.
Courthouse officials said the elevator stopped working earlier today with lone passenger Judge Fred Steagall inside. Steagall was able to get out, but it was unclear when the elevator would be repaired although a call to the repair company had been made, according to officials.
