“Meet the Candidates” set in Ozark

By Ebony Horton

From the The Friends of Ozark:
There will be two “Meet the Candidates” forums for the City of Ozark Municipal Elections (August 26th).

The forum for Ozark City Council candidates will be held Thursday, August 7th, at the Perry Recreation Center, beginning at 6pm. The forum for Ozark Mayoral candidates will be held on Thursday, August 14th, beginning at 6pm. At each forum, candidates will have an opportunity to talk about their platforms and to answer written questions submitted by voters.

Voters may write their questions in advance and bring them to each event to submit to the moderator, or they may use one of the question sheets available at each event to do so. Questions with abusive language will not be allowed. Candidates at each event will have a set time to talk about their platforms and a set time to field written questions from the voters presented by the moderator.

Both forums are free for the candidates and the voters. The events are hosted by The Friends of Ozark, with assistance from the Ozark Hospitality Club, the Dale County Democratic Conference, the Business Women’s Association and other civic organizations.

For more information, call (334) 774-6388 or (334) 774-1400.
