Weekend Ozark police reports

The following crimes/incidents were reported to Ozark Police Department between Friday and Sunday. Information provided by Ozark Police Department:


Friday
Delayed Accident Report – Brookview Drive – suspect struck the victim’s vehicle causing damage to her passenger side mirror, door latch and hitting her car with another vehicle causing small dents and scratches.

Criminal Mischief 3rd – East Eufaula Street – suspect damaged the distributor wire, plastic cover and wiring to his 2007 GMC W4500 vehicle.

Theft of Property 3rd – Reynolds Street – suspect took the vehicle tag off a 1994 Ford F450 Tow Truck.

Assault 3rd/Criminal Mischief 3rd – Will Logan Road – suspect pulled up in victim’s driveway and began cursing at the victim and swinging at him striking him two times in the face with a closed fist then pulled victim’s necklace off and tore victim’s shirt.

Domestic Harassment

Harassment – Hudson Circle – suspect went to victim’s residence to return a clothing basket and suspect then threw the basket at victim’s vehicle and began shouting profanities towards him.

Burglary 3rd/Theft of Property 3rd – Church Avenue – suspect broke the padlock on a metal shed in victim’s (Mattie Beasley) yard then removed a lawn mower and 5 gallon gas can.

Criminal Treapss 3rd – Roy Parker Road – suspect observed on victim’s property, in the cow pasture, picking wild mushrooms and stated he was going to make tea with them.

Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance:Psilocyn – suspect was observed picking wild mushrooms in a cow pasture and made a written statement that his intentions for the mushrooms was to make tea.

Theft of Lost Property 2nd – McDonalds – Victim stated she accidentally left her wallet with contents on the counter and when she returned, unknown suspect had taken the wallet without permission.

Cat Bite – Ashley Drive – victim stated her small kitten was grabbed by her dog and when she attempted to free the kitten, it scratched her on her right hand, breaking the skin and causing it to bleed.

Saturday
Domestic Dispute

Theft of Property 3rd – East Broad Street (Inland #620) -  pumped $39.19 worth of gasoline into his vehicle and left without paying.

Assault 3rd – Harris Road – suspect beat him with a baseball bag on the head.

Resisting Arrest – Harris Road – Suspect was being placed under arrest and made an aggressive move towards an officer then kept pulling away from officer in an attempt to avoid being handcuffed and had to be tazed once to make him comply.

Theft of Property 3rd – Inland #620 – suspect pumped $10.00 worth of gasoline into his vehicle and left without paying.

Theft of Lost Property 3rd – Show Gun & Pawn – suspect accidentally left her cellular phone on the main counter and upon returning to retrieve the phone, the suspect was gone.

Theft of Property 3rd – Inland #620 – suspect pumped $60.77 worth of gasoline into his vehicle and drove away without paying.

Domestic Dispute


Harassment – Jasmine Hills parking Lot – suspect backed her vehicle next to the victim’s vehicle in an effort to alarm and annoy the victim.

Dog Bite – Ashley Drive – person stated he was trying to stop a fight between his dog and a neighbor’s dog and was bitten.

Harassment – Harris Road Parking Lot – suspect was blocking parking spaces and yelling profanity towards the victim.

Juvenile Beyond Control

Sunday
Theft of Property 3rd –  Oak Avenue – suspect stole victim’s bicycle from his yard and the bike was later recovered in the possession of the suspect.

Harassment – Briarhill Court – suspect was attempting to get the victim to sell drugs for him and when victim refused, suspect threatened to beat him up and shoot victim.

Theft of Property 3rd – Herndon Shell Food Mart – suspect took sterile eye drops from the box and left the business without paying.

Man charged in connection to painting teens’ breasts

DALE COUNTY SHERIFF”S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE 08-31-09

John David Lisenby, 43, of Level Plains was arrested Friday, August 28th at his home on 4800 Rucker Blvd in Level Plains on charges of Enticing A Child For Immoral Purposes.

Lisenby is accused of painting the breast of a 13 year old female.  After hearing about these activities, Deputies from the Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Level Plains Police Department executed a search warrant at Lisenby’s home on August 11, 2009.

At the time the search warrant was executed, investigators found Lisenby painting the breast of a 17 year old female.  Dale County Sheriff’s Office investigators seized computers, cameras and painting supplies from the Lisenby home.

The computers have since been sent to the Alabama Bureau of Investigation for a forensic search of the computer files.

While the search warrant was executed on August 11, 2009, a warrant could not be issued until the identity and age of the 13 year old could be verified.

The search warrant came about when Level Plains Police advised the Dale County Sheriff’s Office investigators of suspicious behaviors involving persons believed to be under the age of 16.

This was a joint effort by the Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Level Plains Police Department and the investigation is on-going.

Lisenby was transported to the Dale County Jail under $15,000 bond.

Ozark police reports

The following crimes/incidents were reported to Ozark Police Department on Wednesday. Information provided by Ozark Police Department:

Recovered Property – College Lane – Man was doing yard work when he came across a CZ Model 75 pistol.

Harassing Communications – Harris Road, Apt#46 – suspect continuously calls the victim leaving obscene messages and also looks into the victim’s windows.

Possession of Forged Instrument 2nd – Dominos Pizza – suspect is victim’s cousin and in 2001 the suspect took one of victim’s blank checks and forged victim’s name at listed location.

Unlawful Breaking & Entering of a Vehicle – Sharon Court – suspect entered his unsecured vehicle and removed his HP Laptop Computer.

Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument 1st – Fast Stop #2 – suspect purchased merchandise at listed location and used a counterfeit $20.00 bill.

Unlawful Breaking & Entering of a Vehicle – Claybank Avenue #58 – suspect forced entry into victim’s Honda Accord and removed a Garmin GPS and assorted tools.

Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st – Dollar General Store #2738 – suspect attempted to pay for merchandise at listed location using a counterfeit twenty dollar bill.

Unlawful Possession of Marihuana 2nd/Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Hiway Rest Motel – suspect was questioned about drug activity in his room and a small piece of hand rolled cigarette and smoking papers were recovered from the bedroom.


Domestic Harassment

Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance Crime/Obstructing Governmental Operations – Hiway Rest Parking Lot – Suspect was witnessed taking money for drugs during a controlled buy bust.

Ozark press release on motorcycle fatality

“Ozark Police Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into a one vehicle accident which occurred on the evening of August 26th 2009 at a11:41 p.m.  At approximately 11:41 p.m. Ozark Police were notified of a traffic crash on Alabama Highway 123 south near the Water Treatment Facility.  Reports indicate that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Mr. William R. Salensky was traveling southbound on Alabama Highway 123.  As the vehicle entered a curve the driver failed to negotiate the curve and traveled across a ditch and struck a tree.  Mr. Salensky was transported to Dale Medical Center by ambulance were he was later pronounced dead.  Speed does not appear to be a factor.  Toxicology reports are pending, but it believed that alcohol may indeed be a factor in the crash.  The victim is identified as William R. Salensky age 43 of 177 County Road 18 Ozark Alabama.  The accident remains under investigation”

Ozark Police Reports

The following crimes/incidents were reported to Ozark Police Department on Tuesday. Information provided by Ozark Police Department:

Criminal Trespass 1st – Martin Street – suspect came into victim’s residence without permission and threw papers on the floor then left.

Domestic Harassment – Highway 27 North – suspect became boisterous and aggressive towards the victim and grasped her around the neck.

Unlawful Possession of Marihuana 1st/Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Dean Church Road – Suspect was observed in his yard when narcotics officers arrived at his residence, due to information that suspect had narcotics at the residence, and marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia were found outside and inside the residence when a search warrant was executed.

Theft of Property 3rd – Video Warehouse – suspect has opened two accounts at the listed business and rented movies and DVD’s and refuses to return the items.

Domestic Dispute

Domestic Assault 3rd

Harassment – Harris Road #28 – suspect banged on victim’s door several times and then made verbal threats towards him.

Unlawful Possession of Marihuana 1st/Unlawful Possession of Imitation of controlled Substance/Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Newton Avenue – Suspect was observed sitting in a vehicle at listed location and upon approaching the vehicle marihuana smoke was emitting from the vehicle and hand rolled marihuana cigars, drug paraphernalia and imitation Crack Cocaine was recovered.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Liberty Avenue – Suspect was observed walking in the roadway and upon making contact with the suspect it was confirmed that she had active warrants on herself and while she was going through her purse this officer observed several items used to smoke crack cocaine lying in the top of her purse.

Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – King Avenue – Suspect was stopped for a traffic violation and it was observed by this officer that suspect had a illegal smoking device in the suspect’s left side pants pocket.

ARRESTS:
Sunnie Gordon, 27, of Newton Avenue, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree
Wesley Stephen Folds, 50, of Dean Church Road, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree


Gregory Wells, 57, of Needle Pine Drive in Dothan
