The following crimes/incidents were reported to Ozark Police Department on Wednesday:
Criminal Mischief 1st – Roy Parker Road – suspect used some type of hard object to damage the truck body of victim’s Ford F250.
Menacing w/Gun – Ruby Street – suspect approached the victim, pointed a handgun at her and told her to move or he would shoot her and her boyfriend.
Domestic Harassment
Assault 3rd – Harris Road – suspect swung at her with a wooden object, striking her in the mouth and causing a large gap in her lip and knocking out a tooth.
Identity Theft – Unknown Location – suspect obtained victim’s bank information to cash checks and used her debit card at unknown places.

The following were charged with driving under the influence. None of them have been convicted:
Maxwell Loper, 40, of State Highway 123 North in Lowndesboro
Gary Martin, 32, of Martin Luther Kind Jr. Avenue

Obstructing Justice by Giving False Identity (Monday) – Hull Street @ West Parker Street – Suspect was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at a driver’s license checkpoint and confirmed that the suspect had an active warrant and gave different name to avoid being arrested.
Criminal Mischief 2nd/Theft of Property 3rd – Cannon Gas Station Parking Lot – suspect broke into and damaged the Air/Vac Machine at listed location then removed approximately $300.00 in quarters.
Domestic Harassment – Ross Drive – suspect pushed out the cardboard surrounding her window A/C unit then began pulling victim’s arm in an attempt to pull her through the window.
Domestic Dispute
Obstructing Justice by Giving False Identity – Childree’s Country Store – Suspect was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped and when asked for his identification, suspect stated his name was “Dewayne Clay” which was false and he knew he had an outstanding warrant.
Theft of Property 3rd – Northwood Drive – suspect took victim’s dog without the victim’s permission and stated that the dog had run away.
Criminal Mischief 3rd – West College Street – suspect came onto victim’s property without permission and poured motor oil on her vehicle then set a towel on fire and threw the towel on the trunk of her vehicle then fled.
The following was charged with a felony crime. The person has not been convicted:
Johnny Reynolds, 44, of Willa Street, Unlawful Possession of Crack Cocaine

Remember father and son Fred and Garret Daniels, who were arrested and then released after months for alleged conspiracy to commit murder on a Dale County judge and others?
The case has been dismissed with prejudice. There is more to follow soon.

The Dale County Courthouse will be closed on Friday so officials can attend funeral services for District 2 Commissioner Glenn Grantham.

Dale County Commissioner Glenn Grantham died this morning. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at First Baptist Church of Level Plains with Rev. Roger Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Dale County Sheriff Dept., PO Box 279, Ozark, AL 36361.
