Doctor to speak on teen suicide
NAMI Wiregrass will meet Thursday at the Alfred Saliba Family Service Center auditorium on Lafayette Street at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Nelson Handal will speak on “Suicide: A Major Cause in Teenage Deaths.”
The program is the opening event for Mental Illness Awareness Week, Oct. 5-11. NAMI, or the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will hold a Bi-polar Day on Oct. 9, which will feature a program at the library in Ozark at 6 p.m. with a snack supper. The week ends with a “Community Crisis Intervention Seminar” set for Friday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
