Artists and musicians needed for Dohtan Christmas festival
Published: October 9, 2009
Preparations are under way for the fifth annual Downtown Christmas Festival to be held the first Saturday of December on the streets of downtown Dothan. Vendor space is still available, and musicians are needed to perform holiday music.
The annual event provides children the opportunity to play in freshly-made snow, to visit with Santa and to enjoy entertainment — all for free. Hosted by the City of Dothan and The Downtown Group, the event is made possible through sponsorships from local businesses.
The festival will be Dec. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Vendor space is available with separate areas for hand-made arts and crafts as well as re-sale merchandise. A 10-foot-by-10-foot booth space is $75 with a $15 discount if paid by Nov. 6.
Church choirs and schools are encouraged to come out and perform for the crowds, and many groups are selected as strolling musicians and performers. Any group interested in singing or performing or vendors in need of applications should contact Kerry Farrell at 699-1475 or e-mail at .
