The National Peanut Festival will be held at the festival fairgrounds on U.S. 231 South in Dothan from Friday, Oct. 30, to Sunday, Nov. 8. Performers include Eric Church and Gloriana on Oct. 31; Lady Antebellum on Nov. 1; and Chuck Wicks on Nov. 3. Daily shows include the Sea Lion Splash, Circle C Petting Zoo, B&C Ranch and Star Family Circus with motorcycle globe of death and a high wire trapeze act. The Isaacs Gospel Concert will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. at the Ozark Civic Center. Advance tickets are $15. Tickets at the door are $18. “Sessions,” an exhibit of work created by children and adult classes and groups, at The Dowling Museum and Ann Rudd Art Center on the square in downtown Ozark. The exhibit will hang until Oct. 31.

Scarecrows in the Garden will be on display through the end of October at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens located at 5130 Headland Ave. in Dothan. There are 45 scarecrows along the garden’s asphalt path. Admission is free, and the gardens are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

“Oliver!” runs through Nov. 1 at the Dothan Opera House presented by Southeast Alabama Community Theater. The library at Troy University Dothan Campus will host a year-long International Film Series. Films will be shown on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. inside Sony Hall. “For My Father,” a thriller from Israeli director Dror Zahavi, will be shown on Nov. 10. A mARTinis on Main fundraiser for the American Red Cross will be held on Nov. 19 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the newly-renovated historic building at the corner of East Main and North Foster streets in downtown Dothan that once housed the First National Bank. Chris Hodges Jazz Trio to perform. Sample-sized martinis available prior to an art auction. For tickets, call the Red Cross at 792-9852.

THEATER
The Wallace Community College Fine Arts Department will present Neil Simon’s 1960s comedy “Barefoot in the Park” Nov. 19-21 at the Bencze Theatre on the Wallace Campus in Dothan. Show time is 7:30 each evening.

American Indian History Month Festival will be held at the Dothan Civic Center on Saturday, Nov. 21. Exhibits open at 5 p.m. Activities include a grand entry in traditional dress and a nationally renowned drum team, two competitive dance divisions, social dancing, gourd dancing, stomp dancing, historical exhibits and storytelling. Tickets are $10 and on sale at the civic center. Children 5 and under enter free. Call 615-3000.

Wilson Meadows will perform at the Elk’s Lodge on East Burdeshaw Street on Friday, Nov. 27. Known for soul and blues songs such as “It is What it is,” “I’m Missing You,” and “Shake,” Meadows will perform at 9 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event will also feature Ricky White singing his single “I Still Love You.” Advance tickets are $20; tickets at the door, $25. A Downtown Christmas Celebration will be held on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on North Foster Street in downtown Dothan. The event is free and will feature a snow zone, train rides, food, activities and entertainment. For information, call The Downtown Group at 793-3097.

The Eufaula Pilgrimage will host its fourth annual Christmas Tour of Homes on Saturday, Dec. 5, beginning with a seated luncheon of traditional southern food at 11 a.m. at Shorter Mansion. Luncheon is $25 per person; limited seating and reservations required. From 1-4:30 p.m., four modern homes will be open to the public. From 4:30-7:30 p.m., four historic homes will be open for candlelight touring. At 7:30 p.m. a dinner will be served at Shorter Mansion with tickets $42.50 per person.
