Author to be guest at Friends of the Library luncheon, wine tasting

Best-selling author Cassandra King will be the guest at the Friends of Library’s First Wednesday luncheon to be held at the Dothan Country Club on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at noon.
The event is sponsored by Houston-Love Memorial Library Friends of the Library. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Houston-Love Memorial Library or call the library at 793-9767. The public is welcome.
King, originally from the Wiregrass, now lives in South Carolina and is the author of “Same Sweet Girls” and “The Sunday Wife.” King will also sign books at a wine tasting at Vino Vino Marketplace, 2620 Montgomery Highway, in Dothan on Nov. 4 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the wine tasting are $10 and can be purchased at Vino Vino the day of the wine tasting.
And on Nov. 3, King will be joined by Janis Owens, author of “My Brother Michael” and “The Cracker Kitchen” at Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Fla. King and Owens, a Marianna native, will speak to English classes and will then sign books at a communitywide reception in the Chipola library at noon.
