The National Peanut Festival will be held at the festival fairgrounds on U.S. 231 South in Dothan through Sunday, Nov. 8. Daily shows include the Sea Lion Splash, Circle C Petting Zoo, B&C Ranch and Star Family Circus with motorcycle globe of death and a high wire trapeze act. The library at Troy University Dothan Campus will host a year-long International Film Series. Films will be shown on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. inside Sony Hall. “For My Father,” a thriller from Israeli director Dror Zahavi, will be shown on Nov. 10. Foster the Arts will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in downtown Dothan along Foster Street. The event will include 10 local artists and 10 local musicans as well as a movie in the park, face painting, a painting in motion done by Troy artist Greg Skaggs and two acting troups doing roaming street preformances.

MUSIC
Singer-songwriter night will be held at Cowboys of Dothan every Thursday night. Performances will be filmed beginning at 7:30 p.m. for a show that will feature several performers and aired Saturday nights on WDHN. There will also be filming at the MediaTrax Recording Studio in Ozark for performers under 21 or in the Gospel genre. The Birmingham Children’s Theatre will perform “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” to benefit the Enterprise High School theater department. The performance by the Birmingham theater’s touring division, Theatre-in-Motion, will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Enterprise Civic Center. Fifty percent of proceeds will help the Enterprise High School theater department purchase lighting and sound equipment. Tickets are $8 adults and $6 for children. Group discounts are available. The short feature film “Charlie Applebee, will be shown at the George Washington Carver Interpretive Museum on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. The 19-minute film is a story of a man goes on a unique quest and is helped by a few kind people along the way. The film, which has won several audience and screenplay awards, was co-produced and stars Dothan native James L. Thompson Jr., who will be on hand to hold a discussion of the film during the showing.

A mARTinis on Main fundraiser for the American Red Cross will be held on Nov. 19 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the newly-renovated historic building at the corner of East Main and North Foster streets in downtown Dothan that once housed the First National Bank. The Wallace Community College Fine Arts Department will present Neil Simon’s 1960s comedy “Barefoot in the Park” Nov. 19-21 at the Bencze Theatre on the Wallace Campus in Dothan. Show time is 7:30 each evening.

The Eufaula Pilgrimage will host its fourth annual Christmas Tour of Homes on Dec. 5 beginning with a seated luncheon of traditional southern food at 11 a.m. at Shorter Mansion.
