A food safety certification course called ServSafe will be offered by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System on Nov. 3-4 at the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan.

The food safety course and certification is a state requirement for any restaurant or food service establishment. The state requires one person per establishment be certified in the ServSafe course. The certification must be in place by 2010 and is good for five years.

The two-day training in Dothan is open to anyone in Houston County who has not received the certification. Participants must score at least a 75 on the exam to be certified.

The cost is $110 per person if paid by check or money order and $105 per person if paid online by credit card. To register for the course and for more information, please contact Bridgette Brannon at 222-1125 or 714-1248.
