The Scarecrows in the Garden is on display once again.
A grand opening reception will be held Sunday, Oct. 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens on Headland Avenue in Dothan. Forty-five scarecrows are on display along the gardens’ trails, built by families, businesses and organizations. The event is in its fifth year.
Judges have already picked winners in six categories, but visitors on Sunday will be able to vote for their favorite to determine the “People’s Choice” scarecrow. Light refreshments will be served, and there is no charge to visit the park.
The scarecrows will remain on display through the end of the month. Regular park hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
