Members of the Ozark-Troy District of the AME Church will join worshippers at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex on Sunday, May 31, for Pentecost Sunday services. District members of all ages, clergy and lay, will travel in chartered buses to the free event. Music will be provided by a 1,000-voice choir, including many members of Wiregrass AME Churches. The Preschool Ministry of First Baptist Church of Dothan, 300 W. Main St., will hold a summer day camp for children having completed kindergarten through fifth grade. The camp begins Monday, June 1, and ends Aug. 7. Camp times will be Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children will participate in learning and recreation activities. Devotion and workshops will convene at 10 a.m. The Rev. Jeffrey Brown, pastor of Tennille Chapel AME Church in Eufaula, will deliver a message at noon with music provided by the Dothan-Eufaula District Mass Choir. A worship service will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday at 9 a.m. the district will gather at Water World for devotion and church school.
