Covenant Hospice will sponsor a grief support group on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the First United Methodist Church, 1380 W. Main St., Dothan, from 1 until 3 p.m. The focus will be on “Coping with the Holidays after a Loss.” The event is free. To register, call 850-482-8520.

Calvary Baptist Church will be offering a two-hour seminar, “DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays” on Sunday, Nov. 16, from 2 until 4 p.m. in the church chapel. The seminar is intended to encourge people facing the holidays after a separation and divorce. Child care will be provided through sixth grade by reservation. There is no charge. Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1971 Deese Road, Ozark, will hold a fish fry on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Carry-out plates will consist of fish, slaw, baked beans, hush puppies and pound cake and will cost $5. All proceeds will be used to finance a mission trip to Madera, Mexico, in March 2009 to help finish a dormitory for the elderly and minister to children in an orphanage. Call 774-5610.

Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church, Dothan, will host A Walk of Faith on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. until noon. The walk will begin at Food Depot and will end at the First Baptist Church on West Main Street. A $10 donation is requested from each group or church participating, which are asked to collect canned goods and fruits to give to those in need.
