A New Year’s Eve gospel sing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 7:30 p.m. until midnight at Wesley Chapel Community Church, Bells Cross Roads in Echo, with special guests Lydia Berry of Dothan, Lisa Giles of Ozark, Crowns of Grace Quartet of Ashford, and the New Beginnings Trio of Dothan. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free, but an offering will be received. Call 795-6143.

Mount Olive Baptist Church will hold its annual Watch Night Service on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 9:30 p.m. in the church’s new Family Life Center. A grand opening for the Family Life Center will be held on Sunday, Jan. 4, with a ribbon cutting at 2:15 p.m. and a service at 2:30 p.m. The grand opening will be followed by a series of services held Jan. 5-7 at 7 p.m. nightly and featuring local pastors and congregations.

Lime Springs United Methodist Church, 2852 Highway 153 near Samson, will host a New Year’s Eve gospel sing on Wednesday, Dec. 31, featuring the Dixie Echoes from Pensacola, Fla., Robert and James and Southern Tradition from Defuniak Springs, Fla., and the Calloways from Jay, Fla. The sing will be from 7:30 p.m. until midnight. There will be no charge, but an offering will be taken. Call 898-7035 or 488-5267.

A gospel concert will be held Friday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Ashford High School auditorium featuring national gospel acts such as The Greenes, Brian Free and Assurance, and Royal City. A $6 donation will be taken at the door along with any offerings.
