The Dothan Wiregrass Art League will have its fall “Expressions” art show Friday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 11, at Dothan’s Cultural Arts Center, 909 S. St. Andrews St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free, and the public is invited.

The Headland Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 37th Harvest Day Festival around the town’s square on Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will be food, arts and crafts, and entertainment. An antique car show will be held the same day on Cleveland Street.

MUSIC
Worth Dying For, Kutless, Pillar, Thousand Foot Krutch, KJ-52, Fireflight, Run Kid Run, Esterlyn and Capital Lights will perform Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Ozark Civic Center, 300 E. College St. The show is part of a 30-city Creation Festival tour featuring Christian rock bands. Performances begin at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Advance tickets are $23. Southeast Alabama Community Theatre (SEACT) will perform “Cheatin,’” beginning Oct. 14 at the Cultural Arts Center in Dothan. The comedy is set in a small west Texas town. Sesame Street Live “Elmo Makes Music” will be at the Marina Civic Center, 8 Harrison Ave., in Panama City, Fla., on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $12, $17 and $20. A limited number of $25 Gold Circle seats are also available. Opening night, all seats (excluding Gold Circle) are $12. The Understudy Theatre will host a performance of “Grits on the Side” on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Dothan Dance Club at 2563 Ross Clark Circle between Ace Hardware and Lowe’s. Door opens at 6 p.m. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Show at 7:30 p.m. Cash bar available. “Grits on the Side” has been in production 15 years and is an original musical and comedy revue that spoofs the Wiregrass. Billy Joe Royal will be in concert on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at Crosscreek Junction in Dothan. Christian country duo Robert & James will perform as well. The Featured Players Theatre, 158 S. Foster St. in downtown Dothan, will present “Unwrap Your Candy,” a Twilight Zone-style production which tells four short stories with macabre twists. The production will run Oct. 24, 25 and 31 and Nov. 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15. Admission is $12 for adults; $6 for children. For reservations, call 673-1243.
