DANCE
Patti Rutland Jazz presents “Purple Rain,” a tribute to the musician and songwriter Prince, at the Dothan Opera House on Saturday, Feb. 7, through Monday, Feb. 9. Dancers will perform to songs like “1999” and “Little Red Corvette.” Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7; 2 p.m. on Feb. 8; and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. Senior citizens and students may enter with cans of food on Sunday, Feb. 8, to benefit Evergreen Food Pantry. MUSIC
The Oak Ridge Boys will perform two shows on Saturday, Feb. 7, at J.R. Arnold High School in Panama City Beach, Fla. The shows, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., will be in the Helen Arnold Fine Arts Auditorium. Advance tickets are $39, and proceeds will benefit the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center. The concerts will also feature the Rader Family. The African Children’s Choir as seen on “American Idol” will perform at the Dothan Civic Center on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. The choir consists of children ages 7 to 11, some come from needy families in East African countries. Tickets are available at the civic center box office. Call 615-3175. Adult tickets cost $26 in advance or $31 the day of the show; student and college tickets are $19 in advance or $24 day of show; and groups of 20 or more can get in for $16 with advance tickets.

THEATER
The Understudy Dinner Theatre will present “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney. February 13-14. at The Dothan Dance Club. Katherine Knight and Ron DeVane reprise their roles as Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III in this unique and imaginative theater piece. The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways but continued to share confidences. The evening will begin with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be followed at 9 p.m. with a romantic evening of dancing. “Panache!” a play by Don Gordon, Opus Nostrum Dinner Theatre, 115 W. Church St. in Headland. Show opens Friday, Feb. 13, and will be shown every Friday and Saturday until Feb. 28.
