Clio man faces two rape charges
Barbour County Sheriff’s investigators recently arrested a Clio man on sexual assault charges involving two victims from Ariton, including a 14-year-old girl.
According to a statement from Investigator Sgt. David Morris, deputies charged Jonathan Michael McKenzie, 24, of Barbour County Road 15, with felony first-degree rape and felony second-degree rape. McKenzie was arrested Saturday. The charges came after Barbour County investigators were notified by the Dale
County Sheriff’s Office about two females possibly raped in Barbour County. Investigators with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
McKenzie was charged with the rape of a 21-year-old woman and the teenage girl. He was taken to the Barbour County Jail and held on a $60,000 bond.

No, you are not the only one who’s noticed. By the end of the day there will probably be a few more.
Am I the only person that notices that since yesterday alone there are 5 articles in the Dothan Eagle involving abuse against women and children, with 3 of the 5 involving sex crimes against children? What is wrong with society? What is missing in the lives of the perpetrators that they commit these violent offenses against women and kids? The number of articles would suggest that we are living in a large metropolitan area, not a smaller rural community.
