A Daleville man faces felony charges in connection to the death of a Wiregrass couple in a traffic fatality earlier this month.

Enterprise Police Capt. Mike Lolley said investigators arrested Freddy De Leon Perez, 23, and charged him with two counts of manslaughter and duty to stop and remain at the scene in connection to the deaths of Jeremy and Angel Seay.

Lolley said Jeremy, 20, and Angel Seay, 19, who were recently married in April, traveled together on a motorcycle when Perez pulled out in front of them in the pickup truck he was driving on Saturday June 13.

“He was entering onto a highway so he was required to stop and yield to oncoming traffic, which he failed to do,” Lolley said. “There’s an indication he accelerated at a high rate of speed as he pulled out.”

Lolley said police recently developed some information that it was a teal green full-sized truck that struck the motorcycle. The crash happened around 9 p.m. on Highway 51 as Perez pulled out of Enterprise Park or what Lolley said is more commonly referred to as Johnny Henderson Park.

“He admitted to the incident and told us where we could find his truck,” Lolley said.

According to a statement, Perez told investigators Lt. Earl Pennington and Sgt. Michael Moore he’d been at the park looking for someone. Police found Perez’s 1996 Chevrolet C1500 truck was recovered early Tuesday morning at a body shop in Brundidge.

Lolley said Perez was being held at the Coffee County Jail without bond.

I wonder if he is in the U.S. legally? Though, that doesn’t matter I know, he SHOULD be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the LAW. The death penalty is to good for him!
