Daleville man charged second time with sexual abuse
OZARK — A Daleville man who was out of jail on bond for first-degree rape and sodomy was charged Thursday with the sodomy and sexual abuse of a three-year-old girl, according to authorities.
A press release from the Dale County Sheriff’s Office said Ashley Paul Norris, 30, of Daleville, was re-arrested Thursday and placed in the Dale County Jail under no bond.
Dale County Chief Sheriff’s Investigator Harvey Mathis said Norris was arrested by the Daleville Police Department on April 23 for rape and sodomy.
An investigation that surfaced after the girl reported abuse to another adult led to Norris’ second arrest, Mathis said.
“Once the new allegations surfaced, the Dale County Sheriff’s Office made this case a priority,” Mathis said. “Any case involving a child is a priority.“
Norris is expected to appear before a judge soon.

Death would be too good for this guy. I understand the prison system has a special place for this lowest form of life. I just hope he’ll be abused every day for the rest of his life.
Our system seems to fail its smallest victims repeatedly. My heart aches for these children, our future. Its worse then any natural disaster, tornado, or death of a loved one. Innocence can never be regained after someone who has such a preverted need to harm the helpless. First offenders or otherwise will be repeat offenders. I worked in the prison system and I fail to see where these people are rehabilitated. Mothers and fathers and people in care of our children and their future need to watch their children and protect them. Along with protection they need to know that those who do these things to harm them will be PUNISHED. I feel we need better laws to bring justice to the children who live this horror. I also believe that to some degree there is never ENOUGH justice to heal their tiny hearts from the hurt they endure. What kind of society do we live in where we repeatedly release perverts to hurt our children again and again. What does it say about our laws? What does it say about the parents who allow sex offenders into their mist? We need to seriously think on these things and act! God bless the little ones! May he keep them and us all in his care!
I’m sorry that I got it twisted…him doing this to the baby after he got out on bail…but it doesn’t change my opinion. My prayers will be with the victims who will have to have inner healing to face this world. Just babies…what’s wrong with these people who do this?
This man did this to a 3 YEAR OLD BABY the first time…why are people surprised after he got out that he did it again? If they are let out for whatever reason, sirens should sound so those of us who care can at least know to keep an eye out. People who do this don’t deserve a second chance…they deserve to be castrated and left to rot.
Well maybe if he hadn’t been allowed to bond out the first time, the second offense wouldn’t have happened. Maybe this time he’ll be in jail awaiting trial long enough to experience the same torment he inflicted on the poor little victims he assaulted.
Well, when this creature is convicted, he should be immediately put to death. No appeals no mercy just like he treated that three year old girl. Put him down like the evil creature he is and let him do his little dance in h-e-double toothpicks since the censors won’t let me use the word that is used every Sunday in every church around here…(insert eye rolling emoticon here).
