A Dothan man wanted on felony assault charges in Florida faces two Houston County felony charges in connection to a theft investigation.

According to court records, Houston County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Charles Ives Wheeler, 34, and Cynthia Turnipseed, 44, and charged them each with felony second-degree theft of property. Records show the pair was charged with stealing a lawn mower, eight chairs and a red gas can worth a combined $575.

Records show deputies also charged Wheeler with felony obstruction of justice after he allegedly gave investigators a false name in an effort to impede an out-of-state warrant for his arrest for aggravated assault with a weapon in Florida.

Wheeler was taken to the Houston County Jail and held on a $10,000 bond. Turnipseed was held on a $5,000 bond.
