Dothan police seize pound of marijuana
Dothan police arrested five people during the past several days on felony drug charges, including a 20-year-old charged with punching a Dothan police investigator.
Police investigators arrested Tramain Montez Bradley of Denton Road on Monday and charged him with felony second-degree assault on Investigator Jeremy Kendrick during a traffic stop.
“He was sucker punched by Bradley and attempted to flee,” Capt. Steve Parrish said. “Other officers ran him down after a short foot pursuit.”
Parrish said the officer suffered a cut to his mouth and was treated by a city nurse.
The traffic stop occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Denton Road and Ross Clark Circle. A police statement said investigators seized more than a pound of marijuana, which Parrish said had an estimated street value of about $1,200. Court records showed Bradley was held on a $60,000 bond.
According to court records, Dothan police arrested Darius Johnson, 28, of Ruth Street, Monday and charged him with felony first-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The warrant for arrest showed Johnson possessed marijuana for personal use on Jan. 11, after already having a misdemeanor second-degree possession of marijuana conviction on Ruth Street. Police also charged Johnson with possession of cocaine.
A $30,000 bond was set for Johnson.
Police also charged the following with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance: Robert Earl Blackmon, 44, Allison Dawn Carroll, 43, and Oscar Lopez, 26. They were all taken to the Dothan City Jail.
