Dothan police charged a 16-year-old boy with using a rifle to rob a man at a Dothan apartment complex.

Police arrested Jordan Devon Myhand, 16, of South Saint Andrews Street, Monday night in connection to the robbery at the Granada apartment complex.

Dothan Police Lt. David Jay said police were still looking for a second gunman late Tuesday afternoon.

Jay said police took one person into custody with assistance from Houston County Sheriff’s deputies, but he was released after he was not positively identified as one of the gunman involved in the robbery.

Myhand was taken to the Houston County Jail and held on a $50,000 bond.

According to court records, police charged Myhand with stealing some clothing and a wallet from a man in the parking lot of the apartments. The man was reportedly sitting in his van when two men pointed a gun at him, one with a pistol and another holding a long gun. Records show the victim identified Myhand as the one with the long gun.

A police statement said the robbery happened around 8:50 p.m. in the 100 block of Hodgesville Road.

If convicted, Myhand faces 10 to 99 years in prison for the class A felony of first-degree robbery.

Jay encouraged anyone with information about the robbery to call the Dothan Police Department at 615-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 793-3000.
