A Eufaula man faces his second sexual assault charge against a child within a week after Barbour County Sheriff’s investigators arrested him Tuesday.

Investigators have charged William Samuel Evans, 39, with two felony counts of first-degree sex abuse, including at least one count for sex abuse of a 10-year-old child, according to an e-mailed statement by Investigator David Morris. A $30,000 bond was set for Evans, and he was being held in the Barbour County Jail.

Two other Eufaula men face felony rape charges in unrelated cases. Investigators charged both Jessie Lenard Kelley, 23, and Tristan Kennith Palmer, 18, with second-degree rape. Both men were charged earlier this month. Palmer was jailed on a $10,000 bond and Kelley a $5,000 bond.

Sheriff Leroy Upshaw said the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center and Alabama Department Of Human Resources assisted in the investigations. Deputy Ronnie Benefield assisted Morris in the arrests.
