Four sentenced in federal cocaine case
Four of the 11 people charged as part of a Wiregrass drug distribution conspiracy were recently sentenced to serve time in federal prison, including one Samson man who received about 12 years behind bars.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Clark Morris said federal agents are still looking for the man she called the supplier of more than $80,000 worth cocaine distributed across five Wiregrass counties. Morris said investigators are still looking for Fernando Valencia-Zavala, who last lived in the Enterprise area. Federal agents believe Valencia-Zavala has likely fled to Mexico.
“He was the source of supply for the rest of them,” Morris said. “We caught them probably with two and a half kilos of powder cocaine.”
Morris said the federal investigation showed Valencia-Zavala was the one bringing it in from Mexico.
William Charles Duff, 31, of Samson, received a 12-year sentence after he’d pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and four counts of using a phone to distribute a controlled substance. State court records show Duff was convicted in 2002 of trafficking cocaine in Geneva County.
Federal court records show Isaiah Naku Fluellen, 28, of Enterprise, was sentenced to serve two and a half years in prison for aiding and abetting in the distribution of a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
Hasan Rasheed Abdullah, 37, of Grady, was sentenced to serve eight years each for distribution of a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. State court records show Abdullah was convicted in 1997 in Pike County of felony first-degree assault, which was reduced from attempted murder.
Antioco Cabrera-Geronimo, 30, of Enterprise, was sentenced to serve five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
Five others have already pleaded guilty to their involvement in the conspiracy, while two others have not been convicted.
The following people have been charged with at least one felony in connection to the distribution conspiracy, but have not been sentenced: 34-year-old Michael Dangelo Hobdy, of Troy; 34-year-old Maurice Odell Kemmerlin, of Geneva; 34-year-old Lydia Ann Cade, of Samson; and 31-year-old Johnny Lorenzo Pope, of Samson.
Morris confirmed charges also remain pending against two siblings, Alfred Bernard Jones, 34, of Enterprise, and 27-year-old Lashonda Patrice Jones, of Daleville.
