Kinsey woman charged with trafficking meth
Authorities arrested a convicted drug trafficker Tuesday after they seized an estimated $200,000 worth of methamphetamine from the woman’s Kinsey home.
Houston County Sheriff’s Capt. Antonio Gonzalez said detectives arrested Jennifer Lynn Ferraro, 34, while they served a search warrant at her home located in the 800 block of Broad Street in Kinsey. He said investigators found a “clandestine” meth lab around 4 p.m. inside the home with about 2 gallons of meth oil inside several 20 ounces bottles. He said the meth oil converted to about 4 pounds of drugs.
Gonzalez said Ferraro was charged with running a “shake and bake” meth cooking operation out of her mobile home in Kinsey.
“They turn over the cook process all faster with the shake and bake,” Gonzalez said. “She is the operator, and she is the sole source of the operation.”
Court records show Ferraro was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Ferraro faces 10 to 99 years or life in prison if convicted of each class A felony.
Court records show Ferraro pleaded guilty to felony trafficking meth in 2001 in Houston County.
Gonzalez said agents with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Kinsey Police Department assisted in the meth investigation. Ferraro was being held at the Houston County Jail on a bond of $200,000.
