OPELIKA - Opelika police are investigating a report from a 58-year-old LaFayette woman who alleges she was kidnapped and robbed by two women Thursday morning.
The victim reported she was shopping at Wal-Mart on Pepperell Parkway between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. Thursday when she was approached by an unknown woman who asked if she had money, Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins said.
The victim reported that she then “feared for her life” after she felt a “poke” in her back, Elkins said. The victim reported she did not see a weapon, and the other woman did not indicate that she had a weapon, Elkins said.
The victim reported that they were joined by another woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot, Elkins said. The victim reported she drove the two women in her vehicle to K-Mart in Auburn and then to the victim’s bank in LaFayette, Elkins said.
The victim reported that she went into her bank alone and withdrew money, which she then gave to the two women, Elkins said.
The victim described one of the women as black, in her 30s, 5 foot 6 inches tall and 150 pounds. The other woman was described as black, in her 50s, 5 foot, 5 inches tall and 140 pounds.
