The Smiths Station man accused of killing Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk on March 4 is scheduled to enter his plea in the case against him this afternoon in Lee County Circuit Court.

The arraignment for Courtney L. Lockhart, 23, is scheduled for 3 p.m. CST before Judge Jacob A. Walker.

Lockhart has been in the Lee County Detention Facility since March, when he was charged with capital murder during a kidnapping, capital murder during a robbery and capital murder during an attempted rape.

The grand jury indicted Lockhart last month on the capital murder charges, as well as a separate robbery charge.
