Suspect identified in Alpine Lane shooting
Dothan police charged a 62-year-old woman with shooting another man late Sunday during a domestic dispute.
Officer Thomas Davis confirmed police charged Mable Jean Washam, 62, of East Lafayette Street, with felony first-degree domestic violence. Records showed Washam was booked into the Dothan City Jail around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Davis said she was being held on a $30,000 bond.
The shooting occurred late Sunday evening on Alpine Lane in Dothan.
Davis said the man remained in critical condition Monday after he had surgery to remove the bullet from his chest.
Washam faces 10 to 99 years or life in prison if convicted of the class A felony, first-degree domestic violence.
