Mother who used cocaine during pregnancy going to rehab
A pregnant mother who authorities said admitted using cocaine during her pregnancy has agreed to go to rehabilitation.
According to a press release from the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Angel Calhoun was charged with felony chemical endangerment of a child after informing authorities she used cocaine during her five months of pregnancy.
She had been arrested Feb. 13 for negotiating a worthless check and had taken a drug screening that indicated cocaine use, according to the press release.
Calhoun posted a $10,000 bond for the chemical endangerment charge and agreed to attend a drug treatment program at The Haven as a condition of her bond, according to the press release.
