Ozark man still hospitalized after weekend assault
An Ozark man remained hospitalized in critical condition on Monday after he suffered an injury to his head over the weekend during an assault.
Deputy Ozark Police Chief Myron Williams said the Ozark man was reportedly assaulted with some type of blunt object while he was on Boykin Street in Ozark between 8 and 10 p.m. Friday. No charges have been filed in the assault, but Williams said police have a suspect.
Williams said the victim initially refused medical treatment, and was not cooperating Friday. But Williams said the victim was taken to an Ozark hospital on Saturday and later transferred to Flowers Hospital.
Williams said the circumstances around the assault are under investigation, including the motive.

Sorta like “Dixie” north annex.
Boykin street? He’s lucky that being hit in the head was his only injury. Everyone in Ozark knows that area of town. Most of us detour by way of Dothan to avoid that area. It’s the bronx of Ozark.
